Oprah kicks off her season Monday with a splash of gold, silver and bronze. And, as a part of the Olympic frenzy, the Chicago-based talk show host added in a little American Idol as well.

Oprah interviewed Michael Phelps, Shawn Johnson and Kobe Bryant among other athletes are part of her Olympic special. But, at the end, she added a surprise. American Idol David Cook showed up to sing “Time of My Life“, his single, to the athletes, according to Chicagotribune.com blogger Maureen Ryan.
