Hey, hey folks!
I’ve gotten tons of emails, calls, messages and comments about the new David Cook album. Thought I’d do a little blog to let you know wassup.

As you know: I’m a song writer and have been lucky enough to work recently with Daughtry, Jonas Brothers, Hoobastank, Burn Halo, Train and many more…

I was approached in the weeks following Mr. Cook’s big Idol win and asked about doing some writing with Dave. I’ve worked with his label and management in the past and think the world of ‘em. We met and wrote over the course of a couple months in NYC and LA. We wrote some killer songs and 3 of them are on his new album! We also did some co-writing with my friends Espionage. Espionage is a writing/production duo* from Norway (Norway is also home of Ah-Ha, Vikings (formerly) and the famous painting, The Scream). They are uber-talented dudes who I have written lots of songs with over the last few years.

Funny thing is that David is from Tulsa (well really he’s from Kansas City, well Blue Springs…hell I dunno where he’s from but he lived here in Tulsa for a bit). I knew Dave moderately well and always thought he was a real nice and truly talented fella. Then he goes and wins the most popular talent contest in the universe…who knew he was that talented.

So his album just came out. I am really proud of the work David did on the album and also pretty damn proud of the songs I co-wrote. Check out: “Come Back to Me”, “Lie” and “Life on the Moon”. Those last 2 were written in a studio overlooking Time’s Square in NYC. Sometimes it feels like life on the moon in that place…Dave must feel like he’s living in that kinda world a lot these days.

So there’s the brief history of my David Cook connection. Enjoy the album and keep in touch.

*Other notable duos: Batman and Robin; Captain and Tennille; Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid; Laurel and Hardy; Salt and Pepper; Lennon and McCartney; license and registration; Hall and Oates; Salt-n-Pepa.
